DJ SIMMONS

Chief Executive Officer - ACME

DJ Simmons became Chief Executive Officer of employee-owned ACME Constructors in 2013. Joining the company in 2004, he was promoted to lead its Industrial Division in 2006 and named President and Chief Operating Officer in 2009. In those capacities, DJ has applied his team building management philosophy, down-to-earth communication style, and extensive knowledge of plant processes to oversee hundreds of successful projects in 24 states, ranging from routine plant maintenance jobs to complex, multi-million dollar, design-build plant construction, and expansion assignments.

Despite divesting a $3 million operating division, ACME has grown revenues of $7.5 million in 2009 to over $47 million in 2018 under DJʼs leadership. The number of salaried employees has nearly doubled to over 30, while the staff’s sophistication has expanded to include structural engineering, 3-D scanning, 3-D modeling, and augmented reality—demonstrating DJ’s ongoing quest to continually enhance company processes and technology. Guided by common values, ACME embraces the “team” concept in all of its business dealings. It seeks close collaboration with clients, subcontractors, and fellow contractors in working to deliver full-scope industrial contracting services of the highest caliber.
